About Me
Hello there! I’m Tom-Hendrik Hülsmann and I am currently working as a data scientist in Münster. Before that, I studied computer science in Aachen and lived in Meran (South Tyrol) for 7 years before returning to Germany. There I discovered my love for hiking, climbing and generally for the beautiful mountain landscape.
This is also somehow what brought me to programming and computer science in the first place. When in 2010 the first iPad was released, I was immidiately amazed by the device and its capabilities. My first App idea was actually a climbing-guide that held information about all climbing areas in South Tyrol. It was sadly never finished, but it was the starting point for the countless different projects that would follow. You can find an overview of some of my past projects on the Projects page.
I am particulary interested in what happens in the future of transportation. I think that there will be huge changes in the way we move from A to B in the coming years. I was introdcued into this world through my work as a student iOS developer at MOQO.
Currently I am working as a Data Scientist at the Fraunhofer Forschungsfertigung Batteriezelle in Münster, where innovative technologies are designed and validated that will improve the future production process of battery cells. Advances in battery technology and production will enable many of the new ways that we will move in the future and will help reduce our dependence on fossil energy sources.
I am also somewhat active in the open data community (or at least I try to be!), joining the meetings of the Opendata Aachen group and always interested in new and interesting datasets provided by public institutions.
That’s it for now, you can find out much more about me by skimming over the page if you are interested. Below you can also find a short CV.
